Nowadays, attending a baby/toddler's birthday party is as exciting as finding a most-wanted item in store on sale to me. This phenomena is due to a thrill of outfit picking; you have to look effortless, yet well-dressed, and most importantly - kid-friendly {no seriousness}. That is my philosophy for kid's birthday parties, because you've got 2 demographics to cover: the adult one and the tiny fun one.
The theme of the birthday party of a 2 year old birthday star Sophia was no one else but Mickey Mouse. When we were invited, at first I thought of dressing my daughter as a Minie Mouse, but then I figured this idea would be as ridiculous and unmoral as wearing a white gown to someone's wedding. Afterwards, I thought to dress up as a Minie myself in order to obey the theme. However, that idea got revoked due to the thought that I would look like a Disney call girl that came for a Bachelor party.

The final birthday party outfit contained navy stripe top with a white collar, multi-coloured pleated kid-friendly skirt, and my favourite lace-up heels.
If you read my previous blog post, you remember me talking about the 15 minute getting ready routine. Well, I jinxed it in less then a week. I blame it all on my hair, that I usually encounter zero difficulties with. After much quarrel, frantic tears, and throwing bobby pins, elastics, headbands, clips, and scarves around in frenzy - I put my hair in a high hair bun and wrapped a black ribbon around it, which formed a bow-tie at the front. That was my Mini Mouse hair-do. I was glad and proud of myself that I could use the Minie-excuse for my ill-behaved hair that day.
